Harold Danko in the 70s and 80s was one of the go-to pianist mainstays in New York City. His bio is here at the Eastman School of Music. I posted an interview with him several years ago and this is it: my interview with Harold Danko.
Harold, in addition to being a great pianist and composer, is a thoughtful, thought-provoking teacher. I say that from experience–long ago when Ronald Reagan was the president of the United States I was in the graduate jazz piano seminar he taught at the Manhattan School of Music. Lessons from that seminar continue to resonate.
